Week 3 Blog

 The current debates about technology that interests me are both robots in the workplace and the role of artificial intelligence. Both of these options have come a long way, and it seems every time you get information on both of these, they are becoming more advanced and even better than it was before. But better technology doesn’t always mean better for us. It’s a little weird to have AI become so advanced and up-to-date with everything going on in your life. The same goes for robots in the workplace. I think it’s a little weird to have that because it should be real human people working there. Not robots checking you in or other jobs in the workplace. If I am being honest, I do not really listen to or engage with a lot of opposing ideas about technologies role in society. But I do have other courses where we learn about similar things. There are some textbooks that I read in other classes that helps keep me more up-to-date on technology, but I should probably do some more research. Before starting this class, I didn’t really keep up with emerging technologies that much. But after this class and some others that I’ve had started, I feel myself wanting to keep up with it a lot more. Even if something is not for a homework assignment, I want to look up what’s happening in the world at the time regarding technology. I think it’s very important to know some of these facts, because technology plays such a huge role in all of our lives, and is becoming more and more advanced.
